PetCareGO ("we," "us," "our," or the "Platform") connects pet parents with local pet service providers — groomers, trainers, vets, boarding facilities, and more. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have, whether you use PetCareGO as a pet parent or as a service provider.

By creating an account or using the app, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information you provide directly

Account information: name, email address, phone number, password, and profile photo.
Pet information: pet name, type, breed, age, weight, gender, vaccination status, and any notes you add to a pet's profile.
Location information: saved addresses used to find nearby providers and for service delivery.
Booking and payment information: services booked, appointment times, add-ons selected, and payment details processed through our payment provider, Stripe.
Service provider information (if you register a business): business name, description, location, working hours, gallery photos, and certificates submitted for admin review.
Communications: messages you send through contact forms, reviews you leave, or support requests.

2.2 Information collected automatically

Usage data: pages and features accessed, actions taken in the app, and general app performance data.
Device information: device type, operating system, and app version, used for troubleshooting and security.
Notification tokens: used to deliver booking updates and reminders to your device.

2.3 Information from third parties

Social authentication: if you sign in using a third-party provider (e.g., Google or Apple), we receive basic profile information (name, email) as permitted by that provider.
Payment processor: Stripe shares limited transaction status information with us (e.g., payment success, failure, refund status). We do not store your full card details.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

Create and manage your account.
Match pet parents with relevant, approved service providers.
Process bookings, payments, refunds, and cancellations.
Send booking confirmations, reminders, and status updates.
Review and approve service provider applications.
Respond to support requests and contact form submissions.
Improve app performance, fix bugs, and develop new features.
Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms of Service.
Comply with legal obligations.

4. How We Share Your Information

With service providers you book: your name, contact details, pet information relevant to the booking, and appointment details are shared with the provider fulfilling your booking.
With pet parents booking a provider: providers' business information, services, availability, and reviews are visible to users browsing the platform.
With payment processors: booking payment details are shared with Stripe to process transactions securely.
With service providers we use to operate the platform: hosting, cloud storage, analytics, and notification delivery services, bound by confidentiality obligations.
For legal reasons: if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of PetCareGO, our users, or the public.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

5. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. We may retain certain information after account deletion where required for legal, tax, accounting, dispute-resolution, or fraud-prevention purposes.

6. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

Access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you.
Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
Object to or restrict certain processing.
Request a copy of your data in a portable format.

You can update most account and pet information directly within the app under Profile & Settings. To request account deletion or exercise other rights, contact us using the details in Section 10.

7. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures — including encrypted storage of authentication credentials and secure payment processing via Stripe — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's Privacy

PetCareGO is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app or by email, and will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of PetCareGO after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
